Deep Tissue Neuromuscular Therapy
Deep Tissue Science
Deep tissue massage therapy is a targeted technique that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Unlike relaxation massage, this method uses slow, firm strokes and sustained pressure to reach deep muscle layers, tendons, and fascia—the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones, and joints.
Deep tissue massage helps break down adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation, cause inflammation, and limit motion. By increasing blood flow and oxygen to affected areas, it supports the body’s natural healing processes, reduces chronic muscle tension, and restores mobility.

Neuromuscular Massage
Neuromuscular massage therapy (NMT) is a highly specialized form of manual therapy that targets the nervous system’s role in muscle function. It focuses on identifying and relieving chronic pain caused by muscle imbalances, trigger points, poor circulation, nerve compression, and biomechanical dysfunction
This technique combines deep tissue pressure with precise treatment of specific muscle groups and trigger points—tight, irritable knots that refer pain to other parts of the body. By applying sustained pressure and working with the nervous system, neuromuscular therapy helps reset muscle memory, restore normal function, and reduce pain signals sent to the brain.
My Approach
Every body is unique and holds on to tension differently.
At the beginning of your appointment we will go over the areas of concern along with any injuries or accidents that you may have experienced. We use heat, cups and many massage modalities that will bring your body into restoration. Muscle tissue always needs to be warmed up before deeper pressure can be applied. We use a sports effleurage to get the tissue ready along with medical grade heating packs. Taking a layer by layer approach to healing. Gliding with cups if desired and necessary and the use of a T-bar to get to the trigger points. Specific deep pressure can be applied to tendons allowing them to release and reset. An environment of trust and communication is fostered.
